Abstract: AWNA represents over 100 community weekly newspapers in Alberta and NWT. Established to promote excellence among members in the field of journalism, the Association has expanded to include full-time advertising placement and electronic distribution of news releases and advertising. It provides educational opportunities for members and acts as liaison between members and government/industry.
