Abstract: Brenner's book is a photographic treatice on the Jewish Diaspora. With 25 years of travelling he has seen peasant Jews in Uzbekistan, biblical looking Jews in Yemen, Jewish Hells Angels in Miami to name but a few. Brenner asks the question "What is a Jew?" Along with the photographs Brenner asked academicians, intellectuals, poets and novelist to write short essays on a selection of the pictures.
