A Walk for Mother Earth aims to draw attention, both provincially and nationally, to the serious environmental impacts of oil sands pipelines sprawling from Alberta to different corners of North America.
Abstract: Group walks to Parliament Hill for a pipeline-free future
On the morning of Sunday, June 15th, 2014 a group began an 8 day, 140 km walk from Kanehsatà:ke, QC to Ottawa, ON. Entitled A Walk for Mother Earth, this walk aims to draw attention, both provincially and nationally, to the serious environmental impacts of oil sands pipelines sprawling from Alberta to different corners of North America. The walk will culminate with an event on Parliament Hill on Sunday, June 22nd, 2014 at 2pm.
