"This circa 1934 master work by Chicago typographer and social activist Maurice Bailen is a silent narrative of one man's struggle and despair [in search of a job], set largely in and around Grant Park, Michigan Avenue and the Loop. Dozens of landmarks appear, including the University Club, Cultural Center, Marshall Field building, Rookery, and the Fourth Presbyterian Church.
