I'm being distracted by the sounds coming from up in the trees above my head. Usually I have some idea of what I'm hearing from up above -- swifts, robins, cardinals, sparrows, squirrels, cicadas later in the summer -- but these sounds I can’t place. They're just weird: a combination of whistles, clacking sounds, chuckling, rattling, in no particular sequence that I can make out, and certainly not musical.
