Abstract: This thirty two page booklet provides a comprehensive list of all agencies, together with a complete summary of their facilities, serving Metropolitan Toronto. These agencies are incorporated as the Metro Toronto Alcoholism Workers Council which represents over thirty agencies. The Council evolved from a common concern to a common ground to work effectively together.
In working together they have developed needed community facilities like Detoxication Centres and Half-way Houses, and have helped to change Ontario legislation whence a person found intoxicated in a public place may no longer be criminally charged.
