Broadside goes under

Abstract: The feminist paper Broadside, which published out of Toronto since 1979, is folding because of lack of funds. Broadside had been losing money, and had been informed that its funding from the Ontario Arts Council, a substantial part of its budget, was being cut in half. (The Arts Council imposed similar cuts on many small publications.)
