Abstract:  The Progressive Conservative government cut a further $20 million from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's budget in the February 1990 federal budget. The additional cuts are on top of a $140 million reduction in the CBC's budget announced last year, which resulted in layoffs for 500 people.
