Obscenity conviction
Year Published: 1992 Resource Type: Article
Abstract: A Toronto book store and its five owners have been convicted on obscenity charges after police seized magazines which the judge said involved "undue exploitation of sex". Alan Gold, the lawyer for NOP Ltd. and its owners said the decision will be appealed. According to Mr. Gold, the materials in question would be found offensive only by an anti-sexual but vocal minority of Canadians.
